GrowthWorks Canadian Fund Ltd. and investment partners The Walsingham Fund and BDC Venture Capital, invest together in Sofea Inc. with 100 Percent Year-Over-Year Revenue Growth

January 19, 2007 Toronto, ON: Sofea Inc., fueling its growth in requirements definition and validation with industry-leading customers such as TD Canada Trust, CIBC, Bank Of Montreal, Deloitte, AT&T and RH Donnelly, today announced it has completed a funding round of $6.25 million. This funding was led by Toronto-based GrowthWorks Canadian Fund Ltd, and its investment partners The Walsingham Fund and BDC Venture Capital. The company also announced the addition of three new members to its board of directors: Scott Pelton, Vice President Investments at GrowthWorks, Alisha Hirsch, Principal of Walsingham, and Roger Wilson, Director at BDC Venture Capital.

Sofea will use the funding to build out its executive team, sales and marketing organization, and R&D capacity. Building on the success of its requirements definition software solution for business analysts and testers, which has enjoyed rapid adoption by a range of category-leading Fortune 500 institutions, Sofea is poised to establish its solution as the de facto global standard for requirements definition and test development.

The addition of Mr. Pelton, Mrs. Hirsch and Mr. Wilson complements Sofea's board of directors which includes Larry Humphries, VP at Quest Software and formerly President of Sitraka, David Nyland, Sofea's President & CEO, and Sofia Passova, Sofea Founder and Chief Technology Officer.

"Of the hundreds of startups that we canvas each year, GrowthWorks funds fewer than one percent," said Mr. Pelton of GrowthWorks. "We have been following Sofea's progress for some time. Now that it has established themselves as the acknowledged leader in this high-growth and under-served market segment, built strong customer references, and have a proven leadership team in place, we strongly now believe that they are poised to revolutionize an industry crying-out for a strategic solution in this area."

"Sofea's unique heritage, science and vision have led to the creation a formidable technology platform that is years ahead of any competition", said Mr. Nyland of Sofea. "This funding enables us to increase our presence in the market by being closer to our customers and prospects with the support of a strong management team, focused market positioning and sales, and the operational infrastructure to implement and support customers in our target North America and Europe markets. In addition, we have a strong vision for the future, and our new funding will also allow us to extend our R&D capacity so we can further "raise the bar" on our product capabilities. This will enable us to extend our leadership position, and provide continuously improving adoption and return on investment benefits to our customers and partners globally."
