Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 Adoption Rising

January 15, 2008, Toronto: Blueprint™, the global leader in Requirements Lifecycle Acceleration™ (RLA™), today announced the rapid adoption of Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 by both new and existing customers.

In its first 90 days on the market, Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 has been selected and deployed across numerous industry segments including large financial institutions, healthcare providers, global telecommunications companies, and independent software vendors.

Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 was launched in September of 2007, and is the industry's first requirements definition platform for enterprise wide deployment. As part of this landmark release, Blueprint added the Blueprint Definition Server, which enables teams of users to seamlessly share assets, enable asset protection through version control and configuration management, and merge changes through a defined change-control process.

"Omnicomm has determined that most of our quality problems stem from poor requirements definition practices and point solutions," said Vincent Raaijmakers, Senior Vice President IT for Omnicomm. "Blueprint and proper requirements definition practices refine our requirements definition process and shrink IT requirements cycle time by 40%. Our distributed development teams will use the Blueprint Definition Server to ensure alignment and collaboration, and plan on leveraging the deep integration with HP Quality Center for requirements management and test generation."

Blueprint also announced the immediate availability of a new version of the freely available Blueprint Reader, which extends its collaborative functionality. Blueprint Reader enables any project stakeholder to review and provide feedback of requirements definition assets. The new Blueprint Reader enables improved information sharing and easy packaging of requirements simulations.

According to Forrester Research senior analyst Peter Sterpe, "If you stop and think about it, you may find that requirements definition, not requirements management, is the root cause of your problems. If this is the case, consider allocating your budget elsewhere - on tools for requirements definition on training for business analysts and even business customers, or on process change to enable easier accommodation of requirements change." ("Selecting the Right Requirements Management Tool - Or None Whatsoever", Forrester Research, Inc., September 2007).

On January 24th, 2008, Blueprint, HP Software, and the Requirements Networking Group (RQNG) will host a joint webinar entitled "Visualize Success: Precise Requirements through Requirements Definition, Simulation, and Management".
