Software development has dramatically increased in size, scope, geographic reach and complexity over the past decade. Complex, existing multi-platform legacy systems, combined with new technologies such as Service Oriented Architecture, AJAX, and other Web 2.0 technologies, dominate the 21st century IT agenda. With software becoming an ever more critical component of business operations, enterprises must leverage the same disciplined approach to software development that they have historically applied to other engineering disciplines. The ability to provide rich requirements definition, simulation, and validation can ensure software quality, control application risk, and substantially eliminate rework.

Blueprint Requirements Center 2007 is the first product in the market to deliver key Requirements Lifecycle Accelerators, including requirements definition, application simulation, and requirements validation. In addition, the solution supports collaboration for distributed or global project teams. In conjunction with these accelerators, the overall solution has been dramatically enhanced for SOA and web services, providing support for complete business process definition and simulations for applications that lack graphical interfaces.

"The nature of IT software projects has changed, and the need for upfront requirements definition and validation is paramount," said Matthew J. Morgan, Blueprint Chief Marketing Officer. With the launch of Blueprint Requirements Center 2007, Blueprint has delivered a differentiated requirements system that enables customers to obtain a highly visual, collaborative understanding upfront, avoiding rework, and focusing on creating a common understanding through the development and maintenance life-cycle.
